Riccardo Lupo is a Sicilian director, producer and author. At seventeen he collaborated with the company of Mimmo Cuticchio, master of the Opera dei Pupi, discovering theatre. He then spent five years as assistant director to Carlo Cecchi, an experience that shaped his understanding of working with actors.
He studied at the Galante Garrone Theatre School in Bologna and the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, later completing a Master's at MIT in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Over fifteen years he has built a versatile technical command across cinema, advertising and narrative content, directing campaigns for Palermo F.C., Kappa, Puma and Trenitalia. His long-term project Palermo — A Cinematic Identity, developed between 2018 and 2025, received the Most Innovative Campaign award at the Social Football Summit. His work has been selected at Cannes Lions and awarded at the London, LA and La Jolla Fashion Film Festivals.
A member of AIR3 and CEO of Videonest Srl, he is currently developing three projects across film and television.
